"If Dan Carter was South African he wouldn't have played in the World Cup. Everyone in South Africa would have said he's over the hill like all the older players." So said Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer, who yesterday blamed the South African rugby "system" for Springboks' third-place finish at the World Cup.He said the only way to beat the All Blacks " is to see what they do and do it better".He added: "They knew how important it was for [Carter] to peak at the right time and they managed him accordingly. Those are the things we need to look at as a nation."Meyer will use the time before the South African Rugby Union general council make a final decision on his future to compile a report on the World Cup failure.Said Meyer: "What the New Zealanders are going to do is have three to four weeks off before conditioning their top players and have three months to have everything back in place ahead of the Super rugby start."But 13 of our top 15 players that played in the last game are going to play rugby within the next week or in the next two weeks at least."Some may go to Japan or wherever but they are only going to have one week's rest after probably their toughest rugby year."..
