Hairy time for audience as comics blast Braamies

The first rule when going to a stand-up comedy show: Don't sit in the front row. It is the front-rowers who are picked on, ridiculed and even dragged up on stage. But when funnyman John Vlismas hosted Fire in the Hole at the inaugural Johannesburg International Comedy Festival this weekend, no one was safe. The underground room at Braamfontein's Bannister Hotel was the perfect venue for this comedy-with-no-limits show.Northern Ireland's Martin Mor and Ava Vidal from the UK effortlessly pushed the envelope for headline act Jason Goliath's set on the art of lovemaking.Local comedians Dusty Rich and Deep Fried Man were among the supporting acts.A paedophile joke from Mor almost fell flat and was only saved when an audience member mispronounced "yacht", which had the house in stitches.Even those hiding behind hair weaves were not safe. Goliath told a man that his girlfriend wasn't wearing a weave - her hair got a fright at the sight of his penis.Proof that everyone is a target at a comedy show with no limits...
