Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga is in Paris as Limpopo's matric exams become a shambles. The DA has called on her to take the first flight home to do her job, but the feedback from her spokesman yesterday suggested she was putting the Unesco meeting in Paris first among her priorities. The DA's Gavin Davis wrote to Motshekga to request she brief parliament on the developing examinations crisis in Limpopo."It is unacceptable for the minister to spend so much time overseas when the end-of-year exams are in progress, particularly as reports emerge that the Limpopo examinations are in disarray," Davis said. But Motshekga's spokesman, Troy Martens, said: "The first line of responsibility for basic education in the province is the MEC."..
