Plugged in toddler, 3, mixes some senior beats

Is DJ Arch Jnr for real? That was the question many fans and haters were grappling with yesterday. The world's youngest DJ, 3, was crowned the winner of South Africa's Got Talent over the weekend. But it was not long before the confetti settled when Twitter users posted pictures showing the toddler's mixing table cables weren't plugged in.His father, Glen Hlongwane, told The Times that his son took to DJing when he started fooling around with an app on his iPad.He slammed his son's critics, saying that they were "looking for loopholes" and suggested that the hate came from bitter DJs struggling to earn a living."He won, the performance was real and he mixed that thing. People are poking a little kid when they don't know enough about it," he said. The explanation that Hlongwane and e.tv spokesman Michael Pocock gave was that the audio cables were connected via the laptop and not the controller.Pocock said: "There were two laptops on the stage which DJ Arch Jnr was consistently watching. The one laptop has the DJ software on it, which plays the songs, and the other laptop has a countdown system which cues DJ Arch Jnr."Hlongwane added: "Even if people are saying it was pre-recorded it means he would've had to memorise the timing."He's only three. He's smart, but not that smart."..
