The SA Communist Party has proposed an increase in personal income tax to fund tertiary education. The call came at the end of a three-day central committee meeting in Benoni yesterday. The party said banks need to contribute towards shortfalls in tertiary education."Consideration should be given to an income tax add-on dedicated to post-school education and training. Monopoly capital is the principal beneficiary of the public funding that goes into post-school education and training," it said.It rejected free education for all, saying those who can afford should pay. ..
