Most students writing exams today

Yet another university has been hit by arson but examinations will continue across the country today. The Tshwane University of Technology's Soshanguve examination hall was set alight late on Saturday night. Security had been beefed up at all exam centres and the police would be on standby in case there were fresh flare-ups, said university spokesman Willa de Ruyter.Nhlanhla Tshabalala, president of the TUT Student Representative Council, said: "I am not sure who started the fire. I find it disturbing that this has happened when the university said it would increase security."Other universities are pushing ahead with exams but are also offering students deferments. At the Cape Peninsula University of Technology final-year students' exams went ahead but others were deferred. ..
