Charl Schwartzel won the Alfred Dunhill Championship for a record fourth time at Leopard Creek yesterday, becoming South Africa's most successful golfer in the history of co-sanctioned tournaments between the European Tour and Sunshine Tour. Schwartzel closed with a 70 to win by four strokes on 15 under par, claiming his first victory in almost two years.Frenchman Gregory Bourdy took second place on 11 under with a closing 68."It feels fantastic. The last few years have probably been the biggest slump my golf has been in and sometimes you wonder if you're going to win again. I've worked hard the past 18 months. When you work that hard expectations go up and that can be frustrating because you just don't get to the top. But there's no better place for me to have come than Leopard Creek for things to have finally clicked," Schwartzel said. His triumph earned him his place as South Africa's new force in the European Tour's record books. This was his seventh European Tour victory on home soil. ..
