Sticky glazed ham

No one will know you did not cook the ham. Just finish it off with a home-made touch, a sticky sweet glaze. INGREDIENTS1 ready-cooked ham with a nice layer of fat over the top, about 3-5kg (I think hams on the bone are tastier than the boneless option)Glaze125ml ( cup) smooth apricot jamZest and juice of 1 orange or 2 naartjiesA knob of ginger, peeled and finely grated15ml (1 tbsp) soy sauce5ml (1 tsp) mustard powderMethodPlace the ham on a large baking tray and, with a sharp knife, carefully remove the rind, leaving a generous layer of fat behind. With a sharp knife cut through the fat, creating a diagonal pattern over the top.In a small pan combine the apricot jam, orange zest and juice, ginger, soy sauce and mustard powder. Spread over the fat side and roast the ham in a preheated oven of 180C for 30 minutes, basting regularly.Delicious warm or cold. Serves 10-12, depending on other meats on offer...
