No vote of confidence for IEC

How is it possible that the Independent Electoral Commission accepted the result of the Tlokwe election in 2013 as free and fair, when on Monday a court found the opposite to be true? The IEC should be embarrassed by the court's verdict. Its credibility and impartiality will now always be questioned and it will be seen as nothing more than an extension of the ANC's election strategy.Is Public Protector Thuli Madonsela the only appointed official with the moral fibre to carry out her mandate?What a spineless lot so many of them are.Will those who were fraudulently elected in Tlokwe refund the stipends they received? Ted O'Connor, AlbertskroonThe Constitutional Court ruling that the Independent Electoral Commission must verify all voters' addresses is good for our democracy.The IEC must adhere to this so that next year's municipal elections will be credible.
