Red Ants shot as Jozi is trashed

Four Red Ants employees were shot and wounded as they were cleaning up the streets of Johannesburg. The shootings took place as Pikitup employees continued to trash the city following a labour dispute with their managers.The four were shot at near the Wanderers taxi rank on Monday night. The four are in hospital, with one of them in the intensive care unit, said Fuzile Balintulo, Red Ants' CEO."Our guys were busy cleaning the streets when an unknown man opened fire at them. One of the four men was able to overpower the suspect and took his gun even though he had already been shot in the chest," said Balintulo.Balintulo said although his workers were traumatised by the incident, they would continue cleaning up the city and had beefed up security.Papikile Mohale, Samwu's national media officer, denied that any Samwu members were linked to the shootings...
