France and SA to work together on nuclear power

French and South African nuclear scientists have come out in support of nuclear as a clean energy option after meeting in Cape Town. At the meeting, the French Nuclear Society and the Nuclear Industry Association of SA agreed to co-operate on the advancement of nuclear science and technology.The meeting took place against the backdrop of the COP21 climate-change summit in Paris, and amid growing speculation that South Africa is committed to giving nuclear a much bigger share of its energy mix, spending as much as R1-trillion on nuclear power generation.Valérie Faudon, the French group's executive officer, said the agreement would ensure that experts from both nations shared knowledge and that both countries would have " the best tools to mitigate climate change"...
