"She wants privileges. My son is not here to enjoy those privileges." These were the words of Agatha Habedi, the mother of slain rapper Nkululeko "Flabba" Habedi, after Sindisiwe Manqele was convicted of his murder in the Johannesburg High Court, sitting in Randburg, yesterday.Agatha said Manqele was lucky to have the privilege of applying for bail. Manqele spent the night in police cells and is expected to apply for bail today.Manqele, 26, admitted to stabbing Skwatta Kamp member Habedi, 37, in the chest on March 9 at his Alexandra, Johannesburg, home, but pleaded not guilty to murder, saying she had acted in self-defence.The trial revealed that their relationship was plagued by jealousy and infidelity.Judge Solly Sithole described the relationship as doomed."It is clear from the evidence [that it was] a love relationship which turned sour . no wonder it was doomed to failure," Sithole said, reading from his 50-page judgment. He said the critical question was whether Manqele had unlawfully and intentionally killed Habedi, as the prosecution contended.Sithole said Manqele, in claiming that she acted in self-defence, had to prove that her actions were justified and had been necessary. He said she admitted stabbing Habedi in order to get away from him. This, Sithole said, proved her actions were premeditated. "Her version is not reasonably possibly true and should be rejected."..
