Nene goes, more room for rot

Under the reign of President Jacob Zuma, the ANC has repeatedly demonstrated that it is not capable of running the country or its economy. In a short, terse statement Zuma dismissed Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene, one of the few competent members of his cabinet, while a host of others cling on to their jobs, despite their glaring levels of incompetence.Useless committees are set up, useless investigations are conducted, but the rot remains. Prior to the country's first truly democratic elections in 1994, the nation appeared to be on the brink of anarchy. The people all stood on our streets, holding hands in silence for five minutes to show our displeasure. It is time for another such protest. How do we stop a runaway train? Is a tax revolt the solution? What is clear is that we desperately need a change of government, that positions must be given only to people capable of running this country and pulling it back from the yawning abyss. The people need jobs and food - not hollow platitudes.I suggest the next general election be brought forward to the same time as the municipal elections scheduled in 2016.Citizens must rid this country of this president and his coterie of incompetents. South Africa can no longer afford Jacob Zuma or the ANC! ..
