Cape Town-born singer and songwriter Brenton Brown is up for a Grammy next week for his Christian-nominated song Soul on Fire.Brown wrote the song, which was recorded by US Southern-roots rock group Third Day on their latest album, Lead Us Back. It has been nominated in the best contemporary Christian music performance or song category. The track will compete against four other hits: Holy Spirit by Francesca Battistelli, Lift Your Head Weary Sinner by Crowder, Because He Lives by Matt Maher and Feel It by Tobymac featuring Mr Talkbox. The 42-year-old father of two said he was "still in shock" after hearing of the nomination."It's been an incredible year. As a young musician, my goal was just to make a living playing the music I love. To have that music recognised at the Grammys is crazy," he said."After calling my parents, the first person I got in touch with was my high school music teacher, Sandee Grieve." I guess practising scales really does pay off."The Grammys will air live at 3am on Channel O on DStv on Tuesday, with a repeat at 7pm...
