In the same week Kanye West flamboyantly released his ninth album and third clothing line, and minutes before he appeared on Saturday Night Live, the musician announced he was "$53-million in personal debt". West posted the news on Twitter, the social media website he frequently uses for his tirades, on Saturday night.A day later, he substantiated his claims by asking wealthy entrepreneurs Mark Zuckerberg, who founded Facebook and is thought to be worth $35.7-billion, and Google co-founder Larry Page, worth $29.2-billion,for money.During his 24-hour campaign, West argued that he needed investment to continue his work so far and "make the world a better place".He claimed he had "done the impossible.I retook the throne of rap.I beat the fashion game."He also accused "dudes in San Fran", perhaps those, such as Page and Zuckerberg with San Francisco-based tech companies, of "never help[ing] the real artists".West compared their input to "opening one school in Africa like you really helped the country", although he did not specify which African country he meant.West's wildly popular range of clothing, Yeezy, has famously high prices, with first-season T-shirts selling for $210 and a jumper for $1360.He also has a stake in Tidal, a music service founded by rapper Jay-Z and musicians Rihanna and Beyoncé, through which West has released his ninth album, The Life of Pablo. On Sunday night he asked his 18.8million followers to subscribe to the service, which charges between $9.99 and $19.99 a month, for users to buy and listen to music. ..
