Allister Coetzee has issued a "come get me" plea to the SA Rugby Union for the vacant post of Springbok head coach. Already seen as a front-runner to take over after Heyneke Meyer's tumultuous tenure came to an end in December, Coetzee told Ballz Visual Radio on Tuesday that landing the top job was "one of the objectives in my career".The former Stormers and Western Province coach, currently on holiday, said of coaching the national side: "The only people that can decide and appoint is the SA Rugby Union. But from my side, it's still one of my dreams to do that [put on the green and gold]."That's why I started as a player, had that, it wasn't to be and then I went into coaching - because the passion is still there for the game."For any coach, that would be the pinnacle of his career. For me, nothing has changed."To be able to represent your country is massive, especially Springbok rugby."Reports this week suggested that Saru's general manager of high performance, Rassie Erasmus - a mooted candidate - had withdrawn from the race to replace Meyer, and was looking for coaching opportunities abroad.Coetzee, who coaches Japan's Kobe Steel Kobelco Steelers, added: "I'm still growing as a person. I have been overseas, also growing tremendously, working with other international players from New Zealand and Japan."..
