Sinoxolo murder: 2 arrested

Western Cape police arrested two suspects, 21 and 26, yesterday over the rape and murder of Sinoxolo Mafevuka, 19, who was found dead in Khayelitsha this month. They will appear in Khayelitsha Magistrate's Court today.Mafevuka's body was found half-naked, with her head shoved into a toilet bowl.The case has come under the spotlight owing to the slow progress in comparison with the case of Franziska Blöchliger, who was found in Tokai.Blöchliger was attacked last week while jogging in Lower Tokai Park. The police used the signal from her stolen cellphone to track down the suspects within 36 hours, and less than four days after the murder they appeared in court.The Social Justice Coalition, an NGO, planned to march to Harare police station in Khayelitsha today to demand that the investigation into Mafevuka's murder be accelerated...
