A stunning left-footed thunderbolt from way outside the box from Mxolisi Macuphu saw Jomo Cosmos spring an improbable upset 1-0 win over struggling Kaizer Chiefs to lift themselves out of the relegation zone on Tuesday night.#AbsaPrem log standings after tonight's match > pic.twitter.com/ZT73BxgfL1— Official PSL (@OfficialPSL) March 15, 2016junkIt was the only shot on target from the visitors but a brilliant effort good enough to win any Premier Soccer League game.Chiefs dominated the match and deserved more but could not break down Cosmos's solid defence.Cosmos had seemingly surrendered the result before kick-off with eight changes made from the side that lost 5-0 to Orlando Pirates at the weekend.Coach Jomo Sono said before kick-off that he was not concerned about the result against Chiefs but his players had other ideas and proved fighters from the start."The coffin has not yet been lowered. Take away the tombstone," Sono said in reference to pundits who see Cosmos going down at the end of the season.Chiefs had the lion's share of possession, with Cosmos holding a solid defensive line. There were a few half chances when Chiefs made a breakthrough but the only clear opportunity was William Twala's whipped cross that was pulled back for Camaldine Abraw. His thunderous shot was goalbound but Ndabenhle Mthembu blocked it.Chiefs had their best chance in the 77th minute when Siphiwe Tshabalala won a free kick but hit this effort over the top. Then came the goal out of nowhere. Machupu snapped up a loose ball and hit it from range to leave goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune with no chance."Steve [Komphela] must go," some fans shouted as Chiefs registered a fourth successive loss.Komphela said: "It happens when it is not your day that your opponent gets something from nothing."..
