Today it's three weeks since Pikitup workers started their unprotected strike over wages. Pikitup has "implemented contingency plans" for refuse collection around Johannesburg but there are some areas where rubbish has not been collected for more than a fortnight.Pikitup said it could not reveal details of its back-up plan because to do so would assist those trying to intimidate replacement workers."Refuse in the northern suburbs has not been collected for over two weeks now and we still get billed," a northern suburbs resident raged online."The rats are getting ready to take over." ..
