Close encounter for Charlize, Penn in Cannes

Former celebrity couple Sean Penn and Charlize Theron may be forced to rub shoulders at Cannes this year with their film, Last Face - filmed in Cape Town, directed by Penn and starring Theron and Javier Bardem - due to compete at the Cannes Film Festival. The story revolves around an interracial relationship between an international aid agency director, played by Theron, and a relief doctor during a political and social revolution.The two are brought together by their circumstances and have to deal with tough humanitarian decisions in the midst of turbulent civil instability.Penn's film was selected as one of the competitors for the Palme d'Or, the highest honour awarded at the Cannes festival on the French Riviera, which starts next month.The former couple ended their relationship shortly after their appearance at last year's Cannes Film Festival.Following re-shoots in Cape Town, this was the last time they were seen together in public...
