Fransman backs Zuma, Guptas

ANC Western Cape leader Marius Fransman sprang to the defence of the President Jacob Zuma and the Gupta family on Freedom Day.Fransman, who was asked by the ANC to "step aside" following allegations that he sexually harassed a 20-year-old would-be personal assistant.Speaking at the Cape Town City Hall yesterday, he said it was wrong to single out either the Zumas or the Guptas for the country's problems. He then said businessman Johann Rupert's family had long owned a large percentage of the country's wealth."So who is in control of the state of South Africa?" asked Fransman."What has white capital and captains of industry done to empower, the dispossessed black majority - Africans, coloureds and Indians?" he askedHe asked whether the beneficiaries of apartheid and colonialism had implemented laws and policies of redress...
