Doctor held over alleged sexual assault in SANDF

A civilian doctor assigned to the SA National Defence Force Infantry School in Western Cape has been arrested after he allegedly sexually assaulted new recruits while medically examining them. The doctor, who cannot be named until he has pleaded, has been charged with rape and sexual assault.He allegedly committed the attacks last week. The recruits were all stationed at the infantry school in Oudtshoorn.SANDF spokesman Brigadier General Xolani Mabanga said the man was arrested on Saturday and appeared in court yesterday. He is out on bail.Mabanga said the Department of Defence had launched its own investigation. ..
