Ex-Mandela bodyguard revives rumour of poisoned 1995 Rugby World Cup

Former security policeman Rory Steyn has revived the hoary old tale of the All Blacks being poisoned ahead of the 1995 Rugby World Cup, which they lost to the Springboks. Soon after the shock defeat of the favourites, rumours emerged that the team had been fed bad lasagna by a mystery waitress named Suzie shortly before the final.Now Steyn, who was part of the All Blacks' security detail, says he believes the team's water was poisoned during the Thursday dinner before the Saturday final.Steyn told the New Zealand Herald that he suspected international betting syndicates were behind it."On the Thursday [two days before the final], they were poisoned. About two-thirds of the squad got very sick, properly sick," he said...
