Macbute "Macman" Sinyabi could lose his status as the South African featherweight champion if he fails to defend his title before the end of this month.The pugilist from Mdantsane, East London, took the title from Oscar "Golden Boy" Chauke in November.Boxing South Africa's sanctioning committee has given Sinyabi and nine other South African champions until May 31 to make mandatory defences against No1 contenders or forfeit their belts.The committee's chairman, Peter Ngatane, said: "During this time they cannot engage in any other fight except defending their title."Trainer Alan Toweel Junior has already submitted a challenge on behalf of his charge, the No 3 contender Rofhiwa Maemu.Maemu is on a winning streak of four knockouts in five fights since May last year.The No1 contender is Azinga Fuzile, but his promoter Thembalethu Ntuthu has lined up a WBA Pan African title fight for him in June.The next available opponent for Sinyabi is Chauke, and the No 2 contender is doubtlessly determined to regain his title...
