Yes way, Jose! Man U beckon

Jose Mourinho will finally be appointed manager of Manchester United this week in place of Louis van Gaal, who will not see out the final year of his contract at the club, despite winning the FA Cup final. The former Chelsea manager was approached at the end of last month and his deal has reportedly been agreed to.When asked by a reporter if he had time to talk, Van Gaal replied: "It's over," as he left the squad's hotel yesterday.Mourinho was at David Haye's fight against Arnold Gjergjaj at the 02 Arena at the weekend, while Van Gaal collected the first trophy of the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era with a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace.Mourinho declined to answer a question about his future.Mourinho's agent, Jorge Mendes, is set to arrive in Manchester tomorrow. The reality is that the deal was in place before this weekend and the club is waiting before announcing the decision.Mourinho will begin work as soon as he is announced as the new United manager, and is expected to speak to as many of his new players as he can either before the Euro 2016 Championships or - if he is given permission - during the tournament.Former United defender Phil Neville said even if Mourinho was only at Old Trafford for a brief time, he would bring trophies to the club."He's a proven winner. United fans want a team that will challenge for the league title, not a team that finishes seventh or fifth," Neville said. - ©The Daily Telegraph, AFP..
