Australia's cricketers have a secret weapon that will take next month's battle with South Africa to Defcon 1 - total nuclear war.The weapon - adapted from ballistic missile and submarine technology - will be unleased in their coming series clash with Sri Lanka.It is an algorithm that uses guided missile technology to improve the performance of fast bowlers.Sports scientists at the Australian Catholic University's School of Exercise Science have developed an algorithm that interprets data from the interaction of accelerometers, magnetometers and gyroscopes housed in a wearable unit."It is the same technology used to navigate submarines, guided missiles and spacecraft," said sports scientist and the research co-author Dr Tim Gabbett.Researcher Dean McNamara said measuring bowling intensity for individual balls prepared the bowler for maximum workload...
