IEC's deputy chair breaks ice with his nifty tool of the trade

What do the president of the Dominican Republic, Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng and IFP leader Mangosuthu Buthulezi have in common? They were all coaxed into taking a selfie with Independent Electoral Commission deputy chairman Terry Tselane, who has dubbed his nifty selfie stick "the tool of my trade".It is a Fathers' Day gift he received last year.Malusi Gigaba via Twitter"Whether you are talking with party agents at a voting station or whether it is leadership, their interaction with a selfie is jovial," said Tselane.Last week he brought together President Jacob Zuma, DA leader Mmusi Maimane and a number of other political party leaders into one selfie.He said selfies are a great icebreaker in a politically tense situation.Having worked for the IEC since its inception, Tselane said elections were becoming more tense and the 2016 local government elections were expected to be highly contested...
