Plenty ideas but no cash to fund them

Gauteng entrepreneurs are all looking for funds, but they often don't have a business plan.This is according to Lebogang Maile, Gauteng MEC of economic development, environment, agriculture and rural development, speaking at the Small, Medium and Micro-sized Enterprises Blunders and Bungles summit in Newtown, Johannesburg, yesterday."Everybody wants money and, when they speak to me, they all say one thing: 'We have the perfect solution to your problems of creating jobs to grow the economy.' Nobody says they are taking chances and trying their luck."Everybody believes their idea is brilliant."He reminded his audience "limited resources" meant it "is not possible to fund everybody"."[As government] we have put a few ideas on the table because we acknowledge it's not going to be possible to fund everybody," said Maile, whose department is responsible for the Gauteng Enterprise Propeller.Maile urged attendees to look for alternative avenues to get funding to realise their dreams."Our entrepreneurs are innovative people [and] always have ideas, but ideas without financing is not enough," he said...
