Double delight: Brown to drown in

13 July 2016 - 10:11 By Yolisa Mkele

Coffee and chocolate go together like massages and happy endings. Sure, one is great without the other, but together they create a warm, fuzzy sense of contentment. If you are unconvinced, just pop into Montecasino from tomorrow for Coffee and Chocolate 2016.It is a celebration of all things related to the twin delights and weaves together a series of events themed around them. This year's edition aims to drown you in an orgy of brown tastiness.Take for example the Mardi Gras Experience. Blending a combination of your favourite winter staples, the pairing event allows you to taste varying combinations of chocolate liqueur, whisky and wine.If you are more mechanically inclined, the Steampunk Experience may be your cuppa. It focuses on teaching you how to make good coffee but also looks at some of the most innovative coffee machines on the market. The idea is to turn you into a coffee snob overnight. It partners well with the Barista Experience, which gives you the chance to pit your coffee-making skills against other Java junkies. Should you be a novice in the art of brewing, baristas will happily help you master their craft.Among all the coffee and chocolate will be a host of other fun that includes bands, cookies, wine and more.If you're lucky you may just end up meeting your mate over an accidentally spilt cup of joe.Coffee and Chocolate runs from July 14-17.
