Shop till you drop: Fashionistas for Africa add flash to festival

The annual Joburg Shopping Festival - which, similar to those in commercial cities such as Dubai, is intended to attract tourists from Africa and beyond - kicked off on Thursday last week and ends on August 9. The festival takes place in the city's malls, including Nelson Mandela Square, Sandton City, the Oriental Plaza and the Rosebank, East Rand and Maponya malls.Shoppers can get great deals, special offers and prizes, including SAA tickets, Joy of Jazz festival tickets , holidays at Sun City and four Chevrolet Sparks. To get the shopping festival off to a good start, social media fashion influencers from Nigeria, Kenya, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and South Africa were invited to shop up a storm at the participating malls and tell us about their style and social media success.JOY KENDI, KENYAHow important are trends?I'd never let a trend dictate how I express myself.
