A teacher who was captured on video having sex with a pupil at school has gone to ground. The 45-year-old was caught having sex with a Grade 11 pupil, whose age could not be established, at Ekucabangeni High School, in Nqunthu, in northern KwaZulu-Natal.It is not known when the video was recorded but it has now gone viral on social media. The teacher, who taught life orientation, and art and culture, was suspended from duty with immediate effect yesterday following a visit to the school by KwaZulu-Natal education MEC Mthandeni Dlungwane.Dlungwane appointed a team to investigate the incident. He said he had been told that six other girls, aged between 14 and 16, had reported that they had also had sex with the teacher. The sex video sparked outrage among pupils, who went on the rampage and burned the cottage in which the intimacy is said to have occurred. They demanded that the teacher should be banned from the school's premises."This is very devastating," said Dlungwane. "I can imagine that parents and other learners are feeling more pain."To this end, we will make sure that we send psychologists to offer their services to learners who might need counselling." He told the pupils that a teacher who slept with a pupil, or fathered a child with a pupil, had fired himself."It's a crime we cannot forgive."We can't have teachers who take advantage of the fact that we have put our trust in them and then they sleep with learners," he said.Dlungwane said he had been told that other teachers were having sex with pupils. He reported the allegations against the teacher at the local police station...
