Phat hits the fire with Joe

It's only been a week since he took to the airwaves in KwaZulu-Natal and already listeners are calling for his head. Majota Kambule, better known as Phat Joe, joined East Coast Radio's Drive Time show on Monday last week after leaving Metro FM.This week Durban mother Hayley Going petitioned Kagiso Media CEO Mark Harris and general manager Boni Mchunu, calling for Phat Joe's removal and the reinstatement of former Drive Time host Damon Beard."I petition the listeners of ECR to join me and sign the petition. Hopefully management will sit up and realise that we will not tolerate him any longer," she said.Going said she decided to start the petition because of Phat Joe's "racist" comments, his "sexing himself up", condoning affairs, insulting Wayde van Niekerk's girlfriend, making jokes about rape and calling Olympic gold medallist Caster Semenya "him".Mchunu said the station was aware of a petition calling for Phat Joe to be taken off air. "We are committed to being a responsible broadcaster and will respond to any complaints on an individual basis and, where warranted, on merit. We always welcome feedback and will review the petition once received," Mchunu said.Earlier this week Phat Joe announced he would like to break a world record and asked listeners to vote on what they thought about tattooing a baby live on air...
