Gauteng Tourism is going all out to market the province's fashion designers to neighbouring countries - and a photographic session in Mozambique was first on the list last week.Sexy models posed with go-karts and a boat, among the props brought along from Gauteng for a shoot on a beach in Maputo that showcased Ephraim Molingoana's Ephymol label."The shoot represents the #GPLifestyle", said Molingoana. He believes more creative "activations" need to take place between African countries to help facilitate the exchange of commerce - especially of locally produced luxury goods.''These creative activations in Africa help foster brand awareness and showcase what South Africans can do. If you want people to know about your brand, take it to them yourself," he said."I chose the beach to show the culture and seaside lifestyle of Maputo so that locals are encouraged to make use of it."Molingoana added that the activation is also about the exchange of knowledge between African countries. The shoot had both South African and Mozambican models wearing Ephymol's printed suits from the Autumn/Winter 2014/15 and Spring/Summer 2015/16 collections.  BREEZY: Carefree summer style was the overriding theme of the Ephymol shoot"I wanted the people of Mozambique to be part of the project and I wanted to build relationships with new people at the same time," he said.Molingoana, who began his career in fashion as a model, will present his latest collection, Autumn/Winter 2017, next week at South African Fashion Week.''When I started my career in 2002, men's fashion was not on the top of any designers' lists, but over the years I've seen a revolution with more and more designers focusing on lines specifically for men."He said men's fashion has evolved to look "classic yet fashionable".Molingoane's new collection consists of 80 pieces inspired by the idea of "the modern man: a man who is inspirational, sure of himself, travels the world and commands attention"."The Mozambique activation consolidated our position as a leading destination for African travellers visiting South Africa," said Gauteng Tourism CEO Siphiwe Ngwenya. "We're a buzzing African metropolis ready for business and pleasure."..
