Chad le Clos, the country's most decorated Olympian with four medals, announced yesterday he was leaving Graham Hill, his coach of 14 years."I have decided to end our agreement and will now start looking to find a new structure for 2017," Le Clos said yesterday."For the rest of the 2016 season I will work by myself," said Le Clos, who is preparing for the world short course (25m pool) championships in Canada in December."Every athlete has to take responsibility for his or her own career and I feel ready to try a different approach."Le Clos first stunned the world when he beat Michael Phelps for Olympic gold in the 200m butterfly at London 2012.He also took the 100m fly silver at that showpiece.Le Clos won the 100m and 200m butterfly double at the 2013 world championships and at the Commonwealth Games the following year he bagged an SA record seven medals to push his career tally to 12.But last year he was dethroned as the 200m fly world champ by Hungarian veteran Laszlo Cseh.Le Clos's campaign at the Rio Games started well when he took silver in the 200m freestyle, but the folowing night he failed to make the 200m butterfly podium, ending fourth behind a triumphant Phelps. In the 100m fly he shared the silver with Phelps and Cseh."I would like to thank Graham for all his hard work, his advice and his friendship," said Le Clos."It has been an incredible journey together and he and his family will always remain good friends."..
