New Tennis SA chief to serve women

Richard Glover, announced yesterday as the new Tennis SA chief executive, plans to capitalise on the sport's biggest fan demographic - black women in Gauteng. "The fan base is a lot more transformed than people may think," he said. "According to recent research data I saw, the No1 tennis fans in South Africa are black women based in Gauteng. That is an incredibly exciting insight and is something we can leverage in the future."Glover intends to raise the profile of the once-mighty federation. "We must give key stakeholders - whether it be players, fans or potential sponsors - reasons to believe in tennis."Glover, MD director of a sports marketing agency, starts his work on October 1. ..
