Chad reaches his World Cup century in Dubai

Chad le Clos bagged an unprecedented 100th career World Cup victory in Dubai last night as he won the 100m butterfly crown. But it was his fellow Durbanite, Myles Brown, who picked up two golds in the session, timing his late surges in the 200m and 1500m freestyle races to perfection.Le Clos dominated the 100m 'fly as expected, clocking 49.14sec to win by more than a second ahead of Japan's Takeshi Kawamoto. The unshaved Le Clos was happy with his effort, slapping the water in celebration and then holding up his hands to show 100 written on his palms.At the current prize value of $1500 for a World Cup gold medal, that equates to $150 000 in earnings.But Le Clos, the second-ranked male swimmer of the 2016 edition of the nine-leg World Cup short-course series, had to settle for silver in the 50m freestyle behind Russian Vladimir Morozov, the series leader. Morozov touched in 20.88 and Le Clos in 21.17.Fellow South African Brad Tandy, joint sixth in this event at the Rio Olympics, was fourth in 21.35 and veteran Roland Schoeman fifth in 21.52.In the mixed 4x50m freestyle relay, anchor Le Clos clocked the fastest time of the race, 20.87, as he powered SA - also featuring Tandy, Emma Chelius and Samantha Labuschagne - from last place to the podium...
