Fresh blood for Bafana's Ghana friendly

11 October 2016 - 09:23 By Tshepang Mailwane

Coach Shakes Mashaba wants to introduce some fresh faces for Bafana Bafana's friendly international against Ghana at Moses Mabhida Stadium tonight (7pm). This means Polokwane City's Thobani Mncwango, Belgium-based Ayanda Patosi and Diamond Thopola of Chippa United could be given a chance to shine after they missed out in the World Cup qualifier against Burkina Faso at the weekend.Mamelodi Sundowns' Sibusiso Vilakazi and the Orlando Pirates duo of Oupa Manyisa and Thamsanqa Gabuza could also get a chance to start the game.Bafana drew 1-1 with the Stallions in Ouagadougou on Saturday, while Ghana were held to a draw at home by Uganda."We will make changes. These are the games we need to use to see if we are still on course for our 2022 plan. So, we will make changes, though I won't say how many we are going to make," said Mashaba."It's going to be a tough game. Ghana always give us a tough game. We want to win. The new faces can give us a result. They say new brooms sweep clean."There are areas Mashaba admitted he needs to work on after the draw with Burkina Faso. The 66-year-old wants his players to decrease the number of times they give away possession and he would like to see them get out of their own half quicker. This is what he will address before they take on the Black Stars, who will have quite a number of their supporters coming to the stadium. ..
