Ndoro's header steals point for Pirates

Orlando Pirates grabbed a late equaliser to deny Polokwane City a win in an Absa Premiership clash at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium yesterday afternoon. Bucs striker Tendai Ndoro's late goal cancelled out City's hopes of securing all the three points at home.The host side enjoyed more ball possession at the start of the second half with Puleng Tlolane breaking the deadlock with a superb strike from outside the box in the 52nd minute.City were forced to make an early charge in the first half after Rodney Ramagalela sustained an injury and was replaced by Simphiwe Hlongwane.The Buccaneers remain third spot in the table with nine points after five games, equal with SuperSport United and four points behind leaders Kaizer Chiefs and Golden Arrows.Mninawa Ntloko reports that Minister of Sport Fikile Mbalula has joined the throngs wishing Mamelodi Sundowns well in their Caf Champions League final second leg in Egypt on Sunday against Zamalek.The minister was one of the thousands who descended on the Atteridgeville venue on Saturday to see Mamelodi Sundowns beat Zamalek 3-0 and called on all to unite behind Patrice Motsepe's club ."Mamelodi Sundowns' win [on Saturday] was not just for the football club but for South Africa," Mbalula said."They flew our flag high and represented us with distinction. South Africans watched and the people of the City of Tshwane came in their numbers to show maximum support."We send our congratulatory message to the team and its coach Pitso Mosimane and pledge our full support as they head into second leg of the final," Mbalula said...
