Ne-Yo belts out a monster performance in Durban

Ne-Yo was the real monster at Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday. With his signature hat pulled low over his eyes and a microphone in hand, the Beautiful Monster hitmaker performed like a demon.For more than an hour the US rhythm and blues singer and songwriter belted out fan favourites with songs that ran the gamut of his discography accompanied by energetic dance moves.The performance included a tribute to Michael Jackson, whom he acknowledged as an influence on his work.The artist, whose real name is Shaffer Chimere Smith, referred to the storm that buffeted the coastal city."We ain't scared of no wind, we ain't scared of no rain. We came here to party. I'm going to make this brief because I didn't come here for you to listen to me talk."He was later joined on stage by fellow US entertainer Steve Harvey, who said: "We are forever connected. We are black people. We love you. Thank you so much for coming to the festival."Harvey and Ne-Yo performed as part of the Essence Festival, which was hosted for the first time in South Africa this year...
