The bullying case against a Stellenbosch schoolgirl will only be heard next year.

Eric Ntabazalila, National Prosecuting Authority spokesman in Western Cape, said the case had been transferred from the Stellenbosch Magistrate's Court to the Stellenbosch Child Justice Court.

It will be heard on January 25.

The Grade8 Luckhoff High School pupil was filmed assaulting a classmate on November 24. The accused is seen in a video shaking her classmate's head and smashing one of her knees into her face until she bleeds from her wounds.

A similar video, filmed four days later at the same school, captured another girl assaulting a smaller classmate.

The victim was verbally assaulted and punched in the head. Both videos were uploaded and shared on social media and have since gone viral and made international headlines.
