Welterweight prospect Tulani Mbenge says he will stop South African welterweight champion Shaun Ness inside four rounds at Emperor's Palace on Sunday.
Mbenge, a bronze medallist at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, has not been past four rounds so far in his paid career, with nine wins, all inside the distance.
Ness is considered his toughest opponent to date, but Mbenge doesn't agree.
"I've got the power to hurt this guy and he knows I've got the power to hurt him. Does he have power to hurt me? No. Does he have skill to surpass what I have? No.
"So I'm going to be there to display boxing [and] at the same time overpower him.
"I've got the power to hurt him. I don't see it going long; I don't see it going past four rounds."
Mbenge pointed out that Ness's last opponent, Ayanda Mthembu, had given him problems.
"He stumbled a bit there and that guy didn't want to fight us."
Mbenge was unfazed about Ness's left-handed stance.
"People have been saying this guy's awkward.He's a southpaw, I'm an orthodox. We're going to make it awkward for him. It's going to be an awkward fight for him.
"Me, I've got an amateur pedigree so I've been fighting southpaws," Mbenge said, adding that the winner of his fight against Ness would meet a Filipino fighter in June.
Ness, 34, has a record of 10 wins (five KOs), one loss and two draws.
