After 96 years, Bidvest Wits will get to lift South Africa's top footballing prize for the first time at the conclusion of the last games of the Premier Soccer League season tomorrow.

Wits, who have an unassailable points lead, will face embattled Kaizer Chiefs. As is the custom, the end-of-match festivities are already arranged and the match itself is nothing more than a 90-minute delay for the Wits players before they go to the podium to receive their medals and the trophy.

But for Chiefs it is yet another tension-fraught outing as they attempt to salvage some pride from a season that went downhill with surprising rapidity.

Chiefs have not won in their past six outings and will finish the season either fourth or fifth, capping a second successive campaign without a trophy.

A home win to finish the campaign will be a priority for Chiefs and they are likely to be more committed to the struggle. But Wits, as newly crowned champions, will want to provide evidence of their new-found status.

Chiefs also go into the game as the only club unbeaten at home this season, with seven wins and seven draws. Avoiding defeat tomorrow will give them some bragging rights.

The game is M4 in the top Soccer 6 pool of the week. Let's look at the other matches:

M1 Ajax Cape Town v Baroka FC:

Ajax need home success to secure a top-eight place, while bottom-placed Baroka must win to avoid relegation. No team aside from neighbours Cape Town City have beaten Ajax at home this year, but Baroka can point to winning three times as many games on the road as they have done at home this season.

M2 Free State Stars v Chippa United:

Both clubs are still in danger of relegation, sitting alongside each other just a single point above the drop zone. The winner will make sure of avoiding an immediate drop. Stars have registered a single triumph in their past eight outings, while Chippa have one win from their previous 14 league games.

M3 Highlands Park v Mamelodi Sundowns:

Highlands need points to avoid finishing in the bottom two of the PSL, while Sundowns must win to ensure second place and participation in next year's Champions League. Sundowns returned only yesterday from their midweek trip to Kinshasa, where they won in the African Champions League.

M5 Maritzburg United v Bloemfontein Celtic:

A draw will be good enough to see Maritzburg secure a top-eight place and for Celtic to avoid relegation. With just 15 goals, Celtic are by far the worst attack in the PSL this season.

M6 Polokwane City v Cape Town City:

Polokwane have won four and lost two of their last six games. City can still finish second in their maiden PSL season but must win and hope Sundowns slip up at the same time.
