The rock is the dramatic centrepiece of this strategic British Overseas Territory which has been much in the news recently as Spain agitates for the territory - which was ceded to Britain 300 years ago - to be given back. The British, who maintain that the territory is rightfully theirs, dispatched three Royal Navy warships to the territory on Monday in a flag-waving exercise.
Meanwhile, tourists are apparently suffering what British officials have called "disproportionate" delays at the border as Spanish police carry out security checks.
