British Airways is to launch a new route from Cape Town to London's second airport‚ Gatwick‚ from next summer.

The flights will operate three times a week from the end of November and will complement BA’s twice-daily Cape Town-Heathrow service.

“We are incredibly excited to be the only airline to offer direct services from both Gatwick and Heathrow to this hugely popular destination while adding another long haul route to our rapidly growing network‚” said Lynne Embleton‚ BA’s managing director at Gatwick‚ in Sussex south of London.

Gatwick to Cape Town flights will operate on Boeing 777s on Mondays‚ Thursdays and Saturdays‚ with return flights on Tuesdays‚ Fridays and Sundays.
