The local version of popular dating game show Take Me Out is making a glorious return to TV screens, but on a new channel.

The show, which was a massive success with its first season in 2014, has ditched SABC and will relaunch on Vuzu Amp as Take Me Out Mzansi.

Phat Joe will once again take up his role as host of the show, which sees one eligible bachelor/bachelorette try to impress a panel of men and women in the hope of scoring a date.

Panel members are each given a light that they can switch off if the contestant fails to impress them. The goal is for the contestant to try keep at least one light on, or face going home alone.

M-Net's head of publicity, Nondumiso Mabece, confirmed to TshisaLIVE that Vuzu had taken over the local licensing for the international hit TV show and said that the show formed part of the channel's push for local content.

Take Me Out Mzansi joins an already busy market of dating-themed TV shows but Nondumiso said that it would not compete with the likes of Date My Family and Uyang'thanda Na, as the show had its own target market.

Take Me Out Mzansi premieres on Vuzu Amp on July 10 at 7pm.

We can't wait!
