A British pub, which intended to let its customers know they were still open after water works closed streets to traffic, has had to take its ‘open’ sign down.

This is because the sign for the pub named after the local crown court did not go exactly to plan, says The Mirror.

The sign should have read: ‘The Wig and Pen is open for business’, but instead read: ‘The Wig and Penis open for business’.

As reported by West Briton, its creator did not leave adequate space between the words ‘pen’ and ‘is’.

The sign has since been taken down from the pub.
