A Welsh DJ who has had a sex change will need to have skin grafted for his new penis from his forearm, which is covered by tattoos.
Billy-Joe Newington was born as a girl called Connie but desperately wanted to assume the male gender. He has undergone a double mastectomy and has been taking male hormones for two years, according to a report by Mail Online.
Later this year Billy-Joe will undergo a taxpayer-funded operation to create new male genitalia from skin grafted from his left forearm. The skin of the forearm is a good place to graft skin, as it is smooth and hairless. But it is also covered with a tribal tattoo with red and black stars.
Mr Newington said that having a tattooed member will enable him to feel like a man. He also plans to marry his fiancée Celyn Phillips following the operation.
