Defense Lawyer James G. Reardon Jr. is worried that his client's horns and the 666 tattoo in the middle of his forehead may sway the jury against him.

Caius Veiovis and two others are accused of killing and dismembering three men, according to a report by Huffington Post.

Veiovis considers himself a Satan worshipper and told local police that he was a vampire that drinks the blood of others. The accused has a large septum piercing (through his nose) and body modifications that look like horns coming out of his head. He also sports a tattoo on his head of the number of the beast: 666.

Reardon worries that his client’s “unique appearance” may bias jurors in the decision to convict him.

Veiovis’ original name was Roy Gutfinski. He and his girlfriend were sentenced to ten years in jail in 1999 after bringing a 16-year-old girl to a hotel room, slashing her back and drinking her blood.

His trial begins on 3 September.
