A 44-year-old man has learned a hard lesson - after doctors removed ten ball bearings he embedded into his penis to enhance his sexual prowess.

According to Malaysia's The Star newspaper, far from reaching new heights in sexual prowess the man had failed to get an erection for about six months.

The man, known only as Ramil, was shocked when he found that the bearings had become rusty.

According to the paper Ramil had been convinced to perform self surgery embedding the bearings by a friend who claimed it had boosted his sexual stamina.

“My private part swelled up for three days but I endured the pain and didn’t see a doctor,” he told the paper, claiming that for a while it worked and he satisfied many women after the wound healed.

But months later he began to feel excruciating pain, and a doctor advised him to surgically remove the bearings or be impotent for life.
