Saudi King Abdullah, in talks with US officials, floated the idea of implanting electronic chips in former Guantanamo Bay prisoners to track them after their release, The Guardian newspaper in the UK reported.
In a discussion about the detainees with White House counter-terrorism adviser John Brennan, at his palace in March , Abdullah interjected: "I've just thought of something."
The king proposed "implanting detainees with an electronic chip and allowing their movements to be tracked with Bluetooth, as is done with horses and falcons."
Brennan replied: "Horses don't have good lawyers" and warned that implementing the idea might be illegal.
In Riyadh on Tuesday, an unnamed Saudi official told state media that Saudi Arabia would not comment on the US diplomatic cables leaked by WikiLeaks because it was unsure of their reliability.
